TGP type

There are two main types of Thumbnail Gallery Posts (TGPs); 1) ... thumbnail-hyperlinked based and 2) ... text-hyperlinked based. In other words 1) pages where you click on a thumbnail image to go to a new page and 2) ... pages where you click on linked words to go to a new page.

The original TGPs were all text based, but with increased connection speeds, more and more newer TGPs are thumbnail based. The disadvantage of thumbnail TGPs is that they take longer to fully download and render. The advantage is that you can actually see a sample of what the listed pages contain.

The following icons were used to label each :

• ... text hyperlinked TGP
• ... thumbnail hyperlinked TGP
• ... identifies which listings contain movies
• ... indicates the number of pics or movies

How we rated this

• A ... a thumbnail based TGP with listings that contain movies clearly marked, or a text based TGP with long descriptions (more than 3-4 words)
• B ... a thumbnail based TGP (movies not marked), or a text based TGP with short descriptions
• C ... text based TGP with very short 1-2 word descriptions

We occasionally gave out an A+ if the TGP took extra effort to accurately communicate to the surfer what the listed pages contained
