This page reports on a research study of the hyperlinking patterns and surfer usability of 60 of the major internet Thumbnail Gallery Pages (TGPs).

The raw data for this study was collected in January 2005 by a software bot running on a high bandwidth server that:
From these 75 TGPs we picked the most active 60 to review. Each TGP was marked in a number of categories relating to how surfer friendly the TGP is.
TGPs are one of the main sources of free porn on the internet. Our study confirmed this by downloading all freshly listed TGP pictures and movies. In one week we found: 480,370 pictures (29Gb) and 39,228 movies files (40Gb)
The top 5 TGPs we reviewed were: "Sublime directory" , "Thehun" , "Worldsex" , "Al4a" and "Hardcore junky".
These TGPs are designed with the surfer in mind, and avoid trying to trick the surfer. (More Details)

11th April 2005 - We received feedback that the "New Shemp" will no longer include blindlinks in its main listings. Its mark in the skimming category was increased from D to A+ and its overall mark increased from B+ to A+ putting it into the top 10.

Nici is an HTTP user agent, in other words it accesses the web in exactly the same way as your web browser. The difference being that Nici presents (or renders) the web resources in a way suited to looking through a series of pictures. In addition, Nici does not automatically delete what it saves, unlike a browser which saves content to a temporary cache folder, and deletes it at some time in the future.
