I want to use the Auto-Pilot, but I didn't like some of the pictures

The Auto-Pilot, like any internet bot, is not that smart at the start, but it can be trained!

Firstly, the Auto-Pilot works best as a porn bot because (whether you like it or not), there is far more of it on the internet than other kinds of pictures. If you want pictures of cars, boats, the beach etc, you are better off not using the Auto-Pilot. Instead see:

Auto-Pilot Background

The auto-pilot works by downloading directory pages, extracting the links found on the directory pages, and adding the links to the download line. It alternates between choosing a directory page you have downloaded in the past (from your "History" page), and one from a built in list.

When it extracts the links from the directory page, it sorts them into a list with what it considers the best at the top.

An example link is: http://www.thehost.com/thebeautifulpics/index.html

Some of the things that Nici takes into account when sorting the links:

• If you have experienced download errors from "www.thehost.com" in the recent past, the link is sorted lower.
• If you have given pictures a high rating from "www.thehost.com" in the past, the link is sorted higher.
• If you have given pictures a high rating whos links contain the word "beautiful", the link is sorted higher.

Bot Training

The easiest way to train Nici to download pictures that you like is when you look through pictures either:

• Press the "Delete" key when you see pictures you don't like.
• Press the "Ctrl" key and the "Up Arrow" key when you see pictures you do like.

This is illustrated in the screenshot below. When looking at the "sweet04" page, the "Ctrl+Up Arrow" keys were pressed a number of times. Now the "petal" page is being viewed. If you don't like what you see, press "Delete".

Preferences

You can also override Nici's training by using the Auto Pilot Preferences. To open this window, click on the "AutoPilot" menu, then click on "Picture Preferences..."

As explained above, Nici sorts all the links it finds into a list. You can enter words, or partial words, and if Nici finds a match in a link, it will move the link to the top of the list ("boost" words) or to the bottom of the list ("block" words")

If you check the "Boost Movie Pages" option, Nici will move links that contain words like "movie", "video", "mpg" to the top of list, and as a result you will download more movies.
