Version of Minecraft

The Minecraft Caves & Cliffs update, which was released last year, was announced. The developers had to split it into two parts: Minecraft 1.17 and Minecraft 11.18 updates.
The first part was published in July 2021. The second part will be released in a few days. The developers revealed that they had removed some features in order to release the update within the timeframe. This is when Minecraft 1.18 will be released.
What features were removed from Minecraft 1.18?
The best features of Minecraft 1.18 were the deep dark caves, the sculk block and the warden. They will not be available with Minecraft 1.18.
These features are not the only ones that were held back.

Minecraft 1.18: Test versions available
Many test versions have been released by the developers for Java and Bedrock editions. Pre-releases, snapshots, and release candidates are Java Edition versions. Betas are for Bedrock Edition. Eight pre-releases were issued after we had released quite a few snapshots. They included a lot of bug fixes.
There are three Minecraft 1.18 update candidates, each with a fixed bug. The first update also included a limit change to the size of the server resource packs.
The update will be available in a few days. Developers won't make any further changes as it takes time to balance and test them.
