It is possible to make a Vindicator harmless by pacifying it. Although it may try to attack, it should not be able do any damage. Players can place it in a boat to move it around.

A nametag can be applied to the Vindicator to prevent it from being despawned when a player is too far away. This can make it a pet, even though it may seem hostile.

To somewhat placate a Vindicator, or any other pillager, in Minecraft players must allow it shatter its weapon once the mob is located. Vindicators often carry iron axes, so players want to minimize damage and still take the axe strikes.

Shields are required for this, and there are many. Make sure to stock up on shields and let the Vindicator attack your shield relentlessly, changing in new shields as it breaks.

Minecraft’s iron axes have a 250 durability in Java Edition. This means that it can take many strikes against a shield over the course a few minutes before the weapon snaps.

Once it does, however, the Vindicator can fight with its naked hands and it cannot deal much damage to an armored target such as a well-equipped Minecraft player.

You can now transport the Vindicator in safety by placing it in a boat, pushing it or jumping in and moving it.

After Minecraft players have found or built a place for their Vindicator to be placed, they can then lead the mob towards the area and destroy the boat. To prevent the mob de-spawning, make sure you place a nametag.

This will make the Vindicator stand out and prevent it disappearing from players who are too far away. This will ensure your pet pillager stays in Minecraft, even if it is hostile or doesn’t want to be friends.

The first part was published in July 2021. The second part will be released in a few days. The developers revealed that they had removed some features in order to release the update within the timeframe. This is when Minecraft 1.18 will be released.

What features were removed from Minecraft 1.18?

The best features of Minecraft 1.18 were the deep dark caves, the sculk block and the warden. They will not be available with Minecraft 1.18.

Minecraft 1.18: Test versions available

Many test versions have been released by the developers for Java and Bedrock editions. Pre-releases, snapshots, and release candidates are Java Edition versions. Betas are for Bedrock Edition. Eight pre-releases were issued after we had released quite a few snapshots. They included a lot of bug fixes.

There are three Minecraft 1.18 update candidates, each with a fixed bug. The first update also included a limit change to the size of the server resource packs.

The update will be available in a few days. Developers won’t make any further changes as it takes time to balance and test them.

As a passive mob, squids can often be found in rivers and oceans. They usually number between one and three. They are often found wandering aimlessly through the water and travelling in three directions. They lack any traits or abilities. They don’t attack players even if they attack them. This article will discuss the glow squid, a type of squid that has been updated to Minecraft 1.18.

Spawning

Since Minecraft 1.18, glow squids have been appearing in groups of two to four below Y level 30, They live in darkness, which is also true for axolotls. They don’t make the area shine, even though they appear glowing. In the same area, glow squids or Axolotls might spawn. The latter is more likely to survive combat. The Minecraft Bedrock Edition has an 5% chance to spawn the baby version glow squids.

Drops

Glow squids can drop up to three glow ink sacs when they are killed. A player may drop up to three glow-ink sacs when they are killed using the Looting Enchantment.

Behaviour

Glow squids behave just like regular squids. They can move in all directions and wander aimlessly in water. They can drown if they are pulled out of the water. They only have 15 seconds to live, or 300 in-game ticks. After being attacked, glow squids turn squid-like in five seconds or for 100 game ticks. Elder guardians and guardians can attack them in the same manner as players.

Redmond-based software company, Microsoft, claimed that malicious in-game messages were being sent to Minecraft servers by adversaries. According to Microsoft, the servers exploited the Log4j vulnerability in order to retrieve and execute an attacker hosted payload on the server and the clients.

Microsoft’s unified threat Intelligence team posted in a blog that “Due to shifts in threat landscape, Microsoft reiterates guidance for Minecraft customers running its own servers to deploy latest Minecraft server updates and for players to exercise caution in only connecting to trusted Minecraft Servers.”

According to Microsoft, Minecraft customers who were playing on a Microsoft server had a patched copy of the game automatically downloaded after shutting down the Minecraft Launcher and restarting it. Microsoft purchased the videogame and associated intellectual property for $2.5 Billion in 2014.

To ransom the device, the Khonsari ransomware was packaged as a malicious Java file and executed within the context of Javaw.exe. Microsoft confirmed that Bitdefender, Bucharest Romania-based, has confirmed Microsoft’s earlier findings that Khonsari ransomware was being delivered as a payload after exploiting the Log4j vulnerability.

Although it is not common for Minecraft to be installed on enterprise networks, Microsoft claims it has seen PowerShell-based reverse Shells drop to Minecraft client systems through malicious in-game messages. Microsoft says this gives an adversary full access and allows them to steal credentials.

Microsoft stated that the dropping of PowerShell based reverse shells was often associated with enterprise compromises, in order to facilitate lateral movement. Microsoft stated that it has not observed any follow-up activity from the reverse campaign at the moment, which suggests that the threat group could be gaining access for future use.

Minecraft instructs customers who host their servers to either copy a file to the server’s working directory or add JVM arguments in their startup command line, depending on which version they are using. Users who have modified third-party launchers or clients might not be able to update automatically. Minecraft advises users in this situation to follow their third-party provider’s instructions.

Microsoft’s warning regarding Khonsari ransomware is coming two days after Bitdefender warned that the new ransomware family was trying to exploit the Log4j vulnerability on Windows users. Bitdefender stated that a malicious.NET binary file was downloaded to the victim’s computer as part of the ransomware attack. It will list all drives and encrypt them all except for the C: drive.

Bitdefender stated that Khonsari encrypts documents, videos, pictures, downloads, and desktop files only. Bitdefender claims that Khonsari has written a ransom note in the Desktop folder on the C: drive. It is then opened with Notepad.

Check Point reported Wednesday that the state-sponsored Iranian hacking group APT 35 attempted to exploit the Log4j security against seven targets in Israel’s government and business sectors over the past 24 hours. Check Point was able to block the attacks by monitoring communications between APT 35’s server and targets in Israel.

The attack occurred between 9 a.m. ET and 7 p.m. ET. ET at 7 p.m. ET Wednesday and 7 p.m. ET. Check Point stated that there is no evidence linking APT 35 to related activity against targets other than Israel. Check Point discovered that APT 35’s Israeli-focused campaign follows a Log4j vulnerability-exploiting attempt by a crypto mining group against five other countries.

Check Point stated in a blog post that “Reports from the last 48 hours show that both criminal hacking organizations and nation-state actors are actively engaged in the exploration and exploitation of this vulnerability.”
